Time Commitment: None-June thru March. Moderate-April thru May

Description: Assist Field Supervisors with the preparation of fields at one of 6 locations at which EBS plays. Field Supervisors will be assigned to each field location. Field Supervisors will receive guidance from the EBS Parks Commissioner. (click for game specific instructions per level and per field)

Help with field day, which is 4-8 hrs. on a Saturday in Mid- April with the assistance of the Parks Commissioner and EBS Volunteers. Depending on the budget, some of this work may be contracted out – which then would only require you to make sure it is done correctly before the season starts. Specific Field Maintenance day tasks may include:

• Check and reset bases as necessary (bring 100' tape and shovel).
• Put limestone chips around the benches as necessary (bring wheelbarrow & shovel).
• Dig out and reset home plate/bases if necessary.
• Spread field mix or sand as necessary.
• Shape and smooth fields.
• Pull & spray weeds.
• Pick up trash.
• Repair fences and benches if necessary.
• Maintain field drags @ each field.

Season responsibilities are minimal, usually consisting of:

• You will need to check on the fields thru the course of the season to see if they need any special preparation or repairs.
• Verify that fields have portable toilets delivered and trashcans are provided.
• Coordinate with Parks Commissioner for any special needs during the season.

Like the highway department has their adopt-a-road program, EBS is basically asking you to adopt a field for the season. Additionally, EBS would also ask you to assist in planning future changes or upgrades for the fields – this is done with the assistance of the Parks Commissioner and EBS Board.

All expenses must be OK'd by Parks Comm. & EBS Board.
